Kufuor Scholar wins Emerging Public Leaders Fellow Award

Kufuor Scholar EmmanuellaSpio has been awarded as Emerging Public Leaders (EPL) fellow of the year.
MsSpio of the Kufuor Scholars Program (KSP) Class of 2018 who has just completed her national service at the Ministry of Finance and Singir Johnson of the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology were given the award jointly.


The EPL founder’s award is an honor given to two best fellows of the year who have lived up to the brandand values of EPL program. It is a recognition of fellows who have been great ambassadors at their posts and made exceptional contributions to the program’s development.
Out of the total of 20 fellows in a cohort, 2 are selected for the founder’s award. By being selected, they get to represent the rest of the cohort on the EPL board for a year.


EPL Ghana is a competitive civil service leadership program that recruits and places high-performing university graduates in the Ghanaian government through a 2-year fellowship programhttps://www.emergingpublicleaders.org/. The program provides an opportunity for top performing graduates and young professionals to join the public service in a prestigious role and also benefit from professional trainings, robust supervision and mentoring, and ongoing career development.


Betsy Williams who is founder and board chairperson of the program presented the awards to the winners at a ceremony in Accra witnessed by Senior Minister Yaw OsafoMaafo, Head of Civil Service Nana KwesiAgyekumDwamena, Director General of the Civil Service Agency of LiberiaLaurineWede Johnson and other guests.
EmmanuellaSpio says the award has inspired her. “I felt inspired when my name was mentioned. And it came as a big surprise. I am grateful to the entire team for the recognition, and would continue to live up to the values of the program,” she noted.
